What I've Heard
I've spoken with small business owners who work long hours, take risks, and invest in Warren County because they believe in this community. I've also heard from residents who simply want county services to be responsive, respectful, and easy to navigate.
Whether you're opening a business, seeking a permit, paying taxes, or asking for assistance, people want to know that county government values their time and is committed to helping them succeed. I believe that's a reasonable expectation.
My Perspective
As a small business owner, I've experienced both the rewards and the challenges of building something from the ground up. Running a business teaches you to solve problems, adapt to change, and make decisions that affect employees, customers, and your community. It also teaches you the importance of good customer service. People remember how they're treated.
I've also had the opportunity to work closely with county government through my years as Fire Chief. I've seen firsthand that public servants care deeply about this community and work hard every day to meet its needs.
My goal isn't to change that commitment. My goal is to help strengthen it by encouraging a culture of service, responsiveness, and collaboration. County government exists to serve the people — not the other way around.
What This Means for Warren County
A healthy local economy depends on more than businesses alone. It depends on a county government that is responsive, approachable, and committed to helping people navigate processes efficiently and fairly.
When businesses feel welcomed, they invest. When entrepreneurs have confidence in their community, they create jobs. When county services are delivered with professionalism and respect, public trust grows.
Economic development isn't just about attracting new businesses. It's also about supporting the businesses that have already chosen to call Warren County home.
Small businesses make up the majority of employers in many rural communities, creating jobs, supporting local organizations, and contributing to the unique character of places like Warren County. Strong county services and positive relationships with local businesses help create an environment where communities can thrive.
Looking Ahead
I believe Warren County's future will be shaped by people who are willing to invest their time, talents, and resources here. That includes the family opening a new storefront, the farmer expanding an operation, the entrepreneur launching a new idea, and the county employee who takes pride in serving the public well.
My vision is a county where local businesses feel supported, county services earn the trust of the people they serve, and every resident knows they're valued. When government and the community work together, everyone benefits.
